Review Course 2006 Continuing Medical Education
Physicians: The California Society of Addiction Medicine (CSAM) is accredited by the Institute for Medical Quality/California Medical Association (IMQ/CMA) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. CSAM takes responsibility for the content, quality and scientifi c integrity of this CME activity.
CSAM designates this educational activity for a maximum of 30 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. (18 hours for plenary sessions Thurs-Sat; 7 hours for Wed. Pre-Conference; 5 hours for Cert. Exam Track.) Physicians should only claim credit comensurate with theirparticipation in the activity. Pain Requirement: Those attending the Pain Workshop offered on Wednesday may claim up to 7 hours toward the requirement of California Assembly Bill 487, that California physicians complete 12 hours in pain management and end-of-life care by December 31, 2006.
Family Physicians: Accreditation is pending from the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP).
Psychologists: The California Board of Psychology accepts CME courses accredited by the California Medical Association (CMA).
Therapists: This course meets requirements for up to 30 hours of continuing education credit for MFTs, MFCCs and LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. The provider number is PCE3447.
Drug Abuse Counselors: CSAM has been approved as a National Association of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC) Education Provider #391. Those applying for NAADAC credit should report their hours directly to NAADAC.
Nurses: The California Board of Registered Nursing recognizes Category 1 CME for RN license renewal purposes. Write Category 1 CME in place of a provider number when reporting credits.
Physician Assistants: The American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and the National Commission on Certifi cation of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) accept Category 1 Physician CME.
